Mark A. Ward

Mark has successfully practiced in a wide range of courts in New York including, New York City Civil Court, New York City Family Court, New York City Housing Court, New York State Supreme Court, New York State Supreme Court Appellate Term, New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division, United States District Court Eastern Division of New York, and United States District Court Southern District of New York. In addition, Mark has represented clients in administrative proceedings at DHCR, HPD, and the New York City Housing Authority. Throughout his many years as a litigator, Mark has achieved several successes, including having several of his cases published in the New York Law Journal. Mark has also represented both buyers and sellers in hundreds of residential and commercial real estate transactions.

Mark’s approach to litigation is collaborative, and client centered. He always informs his clients that he is their agent, and they are the “boss” in the attorney/client relationship. Therefore, he focuses on keeping his client’s involved at every stage of litigation, often seeking their input on litigation strategy. In fact, Mark is especially known for his ability to formulate a holistic litigation strategy with his clients that will assure them that they receive the best possible outcome in their case, whether through extensive negotiation or through litigation at trial. Mark strives to keep his clients informed of all aspects of their case, and he pays particular attention to cultivating a congenial relationship between his clients and himself. Ultimately, what sets Mark apart from other litigators is that he believes in always preparing every matter as if for trial, thereby strengthening his clients’ bargaining position for a possible settlement.

Mark graduated, Magna cum laude, from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University in May 2002, and North Carolina Central University with his Juris Doctorate in 2005. He returned to New York and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2006. He was admitted to the New Jersey State Bar in 2021.
